Golf: Savoy Records Career Finish In MemphisLed by Ethan Savoy‘s career-best outing, Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns golf team moved up the leaderboard to finish tied for seventh at the Memphis Intercollegiate on Tuesday. Despite the cold and wet conditions, Savoy was able to hold on and post his first career top-10 finish, tying for fourth place. The Lafayette native shot 74-69-76 to end up at a career-low 219 (�3). His previous low-tournament score came at the 2009 Sam Hall Intercollegiate when he shot 225. The Cajuns’ total tally for the three-round event was 899. After a slow and sluggish start on Monday, Andrew Noto bounded up the leaderboard after shooting 1-over (73) in the final round. He started the day in a tie for 30th position but end up in a tie for 17th with a score of 223 (�7). It was the seventh event in which Noto finished in the top-25. Christoph Weninger finished one stroke behind Noto, tied for 20th with a score of 224. Rounding out the Cajuns’ scoring effort was Thomas Petts (234) and Peter Lamaris (239). South Alabama’s Jack Hiluta won medalist honors as the Jaguars took home the team title with a score of 878. Akron (885), Missouri (892), Memphis (894) and UALR (896) rounded out the top five. The Memphis Intercollegiate completed the fall portion of the schedule for the Cajuns. Louisiana will break for the winter before returning to action Feb. 14-15 when they travel to San Antonio, Texas for the Oak Hills Invitational ![]()
