Louisiana’s Jasmine Anderson was named Sun Belt Women’s Track Athlete of the Week by the league office on Tuesday following a pair of Top 10 finishes at the Texas A&M Conference Challenge last Saturday.
One of those Top 10 finishes saw Anderson run a personal best (8.38) time in the 60 meter hurdles, placing fourth in the event. After one weekend of the indoor season, Anderson ranks 12th nationally in the women’s 60 meter hurdles.
Anderson also finished eighth in the 200 meter dash with a time 24.51 which established another personal best for the senior from Hammond and is the top mark in the Sun Belt this season.
The Ragin’ Cajuns men’s and women’s track and field teams will return to action Friday-Saturday, Jan. 28-29 when they compete in the University of Houston Indoor Invitational & Multi’s at Yeoman Fieldhouse on the UH campus.
