Dwight "Bo" Lamar • 1969-73 • The Cajuns’ career scoring leader with 3,493 points, averaging 31.2 points per game. Twice led the nation in scoring, at 36.0 as a sophomore at the College Division level and 36.3 as a junior in the University Division. He also ranks fourth in career assists with 520. If he was in the building, he was within range.
2. Andrew Toney 1976-80 Second on the UL career scoring list with 2,526 points (23.6 average), Toney also dished out 387 assists. His arrival accelerated the Cajuns’ return to prominence after sanctions in the mid-1970’s. He went on to win an NBA title with the Philadelphia 76ers. 3. Roy Ebron 1970-73 Mr. Inside to Lamar’s Mr. Outside. Ebron is one of only two players in school history with more than 1,000 points (1,683) and 1,000 rebounds (1,064). Averaged 19.4 points and 12.2 rebounds per game. 4. Marvin Winkler 1966-70 Winkler set the standard for future Cajuns to emulate, including Lamar. He scored 2,128 points, averaging 19.7 points per contest, and ranks No. 2 in assists with 580 more than 40 years after his final game. 5. Michael Allen 1991-94 Allen had a rare ability to take over games, either at point guard or as the shooting guard. Scored 1,673 points (18.3 per game), helped UL to its last NCAA Tournament win in 1992 over Oklahoma and carried the Cajuns to the 1994 Sun Belt Conference title and NCAA bid. 6. Kevin Brooks 1987-91 Neck-and-neck with Michael Allen for the No. 5 spot, Brooks was the first star for coach Marty Fletcher’s program. The Louisiana product is No. 3 all-tie in scoring 2,294 points) and No. 4 in average (19.4), while also collecting 719 rebounds. 7. Dean Church 1960-62; 1963-65 As a senior, led the Cajuns to a 20-10 record and the NAIA National Tournament in Kansas City for the program’s first appearance on a national stage. Scored 1,546 points, averaging 16.3 per game. 8. Jerry Flake 1965-69 A lanky, long-range gunner before the days of the 3-point shot, Flake is the No. 5 scorer in school history with 2,058 points and an eye-catching 19.2 scoring average. He also hit 85.4 percent of his career free throws. 9. Sydney Grider
1988-90 The son of a Harlem Globetrotter came by his shooting touch naturally. He is the No. 2 player in school history in scoring average at 24.5 points per game, totaling 1,419 points in just two seasons at the school. He hit 45.7 percent of his 3-point attempts. 10. Graylin Warner 1980-84 Winning was what Warner was all about, as the Cajuns went 15-13, 24-8, 22-7 and 23-10 in his four years including two NCAA Tournament berths and an NIT quarterfinal. The New Orleans product scored 1,762 points, grabbed 682 rebounds, had 153 steals and 274 assists. Honorable Mention
Marcus Stokes1988-92 One of the most unselfish players in a program rich with stars, Stokes joins Ebron as the only UL players with 1,000 points (1,055) and 1,000 rebounds (1,046) in their careers. Byron Starks1990-94 A smooth-shooting off guard from Grambling, La., Starks scored 1,592 points as a key element in Cajun squads that advanced to the NCAA Tournament in 1992 and 1994. Dion Brown1980-84 An unsung force around the basket, Brown ranks No. 3 in career rebounds in school history with 926. He helped to power teams that won 84 games and went to three straight postseason tournaments. He added 1,412 points. Dion Rainey1976-80 Rainey, a contemporary of Andrew Toney, provided the inside scoring touch with 1,421 career points. He will forever be remembered for his deep-in-the-corner shot that beat UAB in the NIT at Blackham Coliseum. Tim Thompson1957-61 Pumped in 15.6 points per game and scored 1,587 points, good for 11th in school history. Earned All-Gulf States Conference honors in each of his four seasons. Kevin Figaro1977-81 The Lafayette High product is arguably the best local product to ever wear the Vermilion and White. Figaro scored 1,474 points and blossomed as the team leader as a senior after Andrew Toney left for the NBA. Bill McHorris1958-61 Averaged 18.8 points per game and scored 1,355 career points, good for 24th in school history. Was a three-time first-team All-Gulf States Conference pick. Aaron Mitchell1987-91 Need an assist? Mitchell had a school-record 674, including a Cajun-best 264 in 1989-90. A steal? The Lacassine product notched 167, including 68 in 1990-91. Fred Saunders1970-73 While Bo Lamar and Roy Ebron basked in the spotlight, Saunders won over fans with his rebounding (780) and assists (271) as the ultimate team player. Johnny Collins1981-83 The blueprint for unselfish point guard play. Collins averaged a school-record 6.7 assists per game with 399 in 60 contests, and also had 158 steals. Ed McCauley1951-55 Was the program’s first member of the 1,000-point club. Scored 1,596 points and was a four-time All-Gulf States Conference selection.
