Louisiana’s Philipp Fendt earned a spot on the Sun Belt’s All-Conference Golf team after finishing in a tie for 8th place at the SBC Championships. The tournament was cut short on Wednesday because of inclement weather.

"I’m very proud of Philipp," said UL head coach Theo Sliman. "He has been a tremendous asset  this season. He has worked extremely hard on his game this season and I can only expect him to get better the more he plays."

The award marks the third straight year that the junior has picked up a conference award. Last season, he earned All-Conference honors and was tabbed the league’s Freshman of the Year in 2009.

Fendt averaged 72.21 strokes over 29 rounds this past season. His scoring average ranked among the top-10 in the league. He posted five top-10 finishes on the year and had 10 top-25 showings.

At the Oak Hills Invitational this season, the Austrian native tied his career best finish after tying for third place. He also tied his career best round at the tournament after firing off a 67 (-4) in the second round.
