After winning 20-plus matches for the second straight season, UL’s Julie Mazinova was named First Team All-Louisiana by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association over the weekend.

The team was based on nominations submitted by the sports information directors of the tennis playing schools in the state.

Mazinova was 21-9 this past season, including a perfect 5-0 against Sun Belt opponents.

She was also impressive from the no. 2 singles spot, going 7-1 in dual matches.

It was the first career honor for Mazinova who helped the Cajuns reach the Sun Belt Championship Finals for the first time in 13 years.

She finishes her career at UL with a 70-41 singles record and 59-42 career record in doubles play. Her 130 total wins ranks second in the program’s history.
