Athletic Training: Soileau Named Director of Athletic TrainingAthletic Training: Soileau Named Director of Athletic Training Athletic Training: Soileau Named Director of Athletic Training Russell Luna, www.ragincajuns.com June 30, 2011 The successor for long-time Ragin’ Cajuns head trainer John Porche, who retired earlier this month, has been named. Travis Soileau, who studied the trade and recently worked alongside Porche the past eight years, is UL’s new Director of Athletic Training. Soileau joined the Ragin’ Cajuns Athletic Training staff in 2003 and just completed his fourth year as Associate Athletic Trainer, a capacity in which he served as the assistant football athletic trainer and oversaw the care of the Men and Women’s Track and Field team. He spent the previous four years as an Assistant Athletic Trainer serving as assistant football athletic trainer and directly overseeing the care of Men’s Basketball and Men’s and Women’s Track. A native of Port Barre, La, Soileau served as a student athletic trainer at UL from 1994-99 and received his master’s degree from Clemson in 2003. He and his wife, Brandi, are the parents of a daughter, Kaitlyn Camille. Brian Davis, a member of the Athletic Training staff since 2008, is now the Associate Director of Athletic Training.
