Strength & Conditioning: Manikowski Joins Cajuns’™ Strength StaffStrength & Conditioning: Manikowski Joins Cajuns’ Strength Staff Strength & Conditioning: Manikowski Joins Cajuns’ Strength Staff Russell Luna, www.ragincajuns.com June 30, 2011 The University of Louisiana Athletics Department announced the hiring of Jason Manikowski as assistant strength & conditioning coach. His hiring is pending approval by the University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors. Manikowski replaces Scott Salwasser, who served on the Ragin’ Cajuns’ strength staff the previous two seasons before accepting a position with SPARTA Performance Science in Menlo Park, Calif. Manikowski joins the Cajuns after spending the last 17 months as a strength and conditioning graduate assistant at Texas Christian University. While at TCU, Manikowski was the head strength coach for the Horned Frogs women’s basketball and equestrian programs. He designed all of the strength, speed and agility programs for women’s basketball, while assisting with football. In the summer of 2009, Manikowski served as an intern at TCU where he helped demonstrate proper technique in performing Olympic lifts and improving speed development. Prior to working at TCU, he was employed as a physical education teacher at St. Catherine’s High School in Racine, Wisc. In 2007, Manikowski was the assistant strength and conditioning coach for football at his alma mater, University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh. Manikowski holds a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and Health Education from UW-Oshkosh, where he was a four-year starting free safety for the Titans. He was a second team Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference All-Conference selection in 2005 and earned a preseason All-American accolade going into his senior campaign for the 2006 season.
