Baseball: Badeaux leaving UL baseball staffTim Buckley, Daily Advertiser, September 9, 2011 The UL baseball team is down one member of its coaching staff. Brooks Badeaux, who joined the Ragin’ Cajuns in July of 2009 as a volunteer assistant, has resigned to pursue an opportunity in the private sector, head coach Tony Robichaux said. Badeaux worked with UL’s infielders and served as its first-base coach. But with the NCAA allowing baseball teams only two full-time paid assistants, Badeaux didn’t earn a salary. His new work will allow him to stay close to the game, according to Robichaux. "We’ll miss him," Robichaux said. "I think Brooks is going to be successful. He’s a great baseball person, and if I ever have a full-time position open he’ll be the first person I call." A former Teurlings Catholic standout, Badeaux played at Florida State from 1995-98 and made three trips to the College World Series with the Seminoles. He later played in the Tampa Bay Rays’ minor-league organization from 1998 to 2005, and again in 2007 after one season in the Baltimore Orioles system. Badeaux also is a former assistant coach at both Teurlings Catholic and Comeaux High.
