Football: Upcoming Events at the New Orleans Bowl 12/14/11

The 2011 R�L Carriers New Orleans Bowl is only three days away and the excitement is already building in New Orleans as the team continues preparations for its matchup with San Diego State.
Fans will have plenty of opportunities to prepare for the game as well starting on Thursday, Dec. 15 at 9 p.m. when the Ragin’ Cajuns “Paint the Quarter Red” with a second line parade from the Marriott Hotel through the French Quarter.
On Friday, Dec. 16, fans are encouraged to take part in the Ragin’ Cajuns Fan Fest sponsored by HOMEBANK at the New Orleans Marriott on Canal Street at 3 p.m. The Fan Fest is open to all Ragin’ Cajuns and there will be live music provided by Jamie Bergeron and the Kickin’ Cajuns.
Following the Ragin’ Cajuns Fan Fest is the New Orleans Bowl Free for All. The Free for All starts at 5:15 p.m. and includes a second line parade for Ragin’ Cajuns fans from the Marriott Hotel to the Spanish Plaza. The event is also free to the public, and fans will be able to enjoy live music from Rebirth and Givers as well as great food.
There are several events leading up to kickoff on Saturday, Dec. 17 including Pre-Game Tailgating at Rouses on Barrone Street from 1-5 p.m.
Starting at 2:30 p.m. the Ragin’ Cajuns Athletic Foundation will host the RCAF Tailgate Party sponsored by Iberia Bank in the St. Charles Room at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. Admission is free to all RCAF 2011 Annual Fund donors and $10.00 for all others.
At 4 p.m., the UL Alumni Association will host a Ragin’ Cajuns Alumni Pre-Game Bash in Club 44 located off of Champions Square.
The R�L Carriers New Orleans Bowl Tailgate Party at Champions Square caps off the festivities on game day starting at 5:30 p.m. and ending at 8 p.m. Fans will have a chance to get ready for the big game with great entertainment, food and beverage.
Doors open for the New Orleans Bowl at 6:30 p.m. with kick off slated for 8 p.m. in the Mercedes Superdome.
