Obituary: Gerald Deacy Hodges – Football 1947- 49 – December 30, 2011
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2012, at the Geesey-Ferguson Funeral home Chapel for Gerald Deacy Hodges, 84, who died at 9:47 p.m. Friday, December 30, 2011 in Jennings, LA Mr. Hodges was born Feb, 26, 1927 in New Orleans, La. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and served his country during World War II. He owned and operated Hodges Insurance Agency in Eunice for 20 years. He was a 1948 graduate of SLI where he played 2 years of first string football. He is survived by one son Clyde Hodges and his wife Catherine of Crowley; one daughter Sidney Anne Gula and her husband Tom of Florida; two stepchildren Paula Guillory and her husband Stephen of Eunice and Chuck Andrus and his wife JoAnn of Eunice; 15 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Clyde Hamilton Hodges and Sidney Brown Hodges; his first wife Leah Jane Fruge Hodges; 2nd wife Norma Jeane Faulk Hodges; a stepson Lawrence Andrus; a grandson Ian Andrus and two brothers William Henry Hodges, III and Clyde H.
