Football: Two Saints, former UL star Tillman make Pro Bowl rosters 12/27/12

Chad Washington, The Advertiser, December 27. 2012

A pair of Saints players, a pair of former LSU players and a former Ragin’ Cajun was named to the 2013 NFL Pro Bowl rosters on Wednesday night.

Offensive lineman Jahri Evans and punter Thomas Morstead were the two Saints named to the NFC roster. Evans has started all 15 games this season for New Orleans, making the Pro Bowl for the fourth straight season. Morstead will make his first trip to Hawaii, as he has 68 punts with an average of 44.4 yards per punt in 2012, with 18 of them being downed inside the opponent’s 20-yard line.

Chicago Bears cornerback and former UL star Charles Tillman also made it on the NFC team by posting a very impressive season. Tillman leads the Bears with 71 tackles this season with 10 fumbles forced and three interceptions.

Two former LSU defensive backs were also named to squads, as Arizona’s Patrick Peterson will be on the NFC team and LaRon Landry of the New York Jets will be on the AFC team.

The Pro Bowl will take place on Jan. 27 from Aloha Stadium in Honolulu.
