Obituary: Sarah Redd Callaway Brabant, Faculty, Sociology

Sarah Redd Callaway Brabant, PhD, ULL Professor Emerita of Sociology, died August 30, 2026. She was born November 18, 1932, in La Grange, GA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jennie Crowell and Enoch Callaway II, MD, her sister Jane Luisa Callaway, her brother Enoch Callaway III, MD, and her beloved husband and best friend, Rev. Dr. Wilmer Everette MacNair.

She leaves her three children, nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and two step children. A Memorial Mass will be offered on October 24, 2026, at 10AM, St. Patrick Catholic Church, in Lafayette, LA.
