The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns football team captured the 2021 Sun Belt Conference Championship on Saturday by defeating Appalachian State 24-16 in Lafayette, Louisiana.

The UL Ragin’ Cajuns, ranked No. 21 in the USA Today Sports AFCA Coaches Poll, improved to 12-1 overall. Appalachian State went to 10-3 overall.

After Saturday, Appalachian State leads the all-time series 8-3 vs. Louisiana.

It was the final game for Billy Napier as the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns football head coach before taking over the Florida Gators program.
