Obituary:

Fabia Brame Park – SLI Red Jacket 51-54.

LAFAYETTE – Fabia Brame Park passed away peacefully, following a brief illness, on Wednesday, July 4, 2012 in Lafayette, Louisiana surrounded by her family.

Fabia grew up in Oakdale, Louisiana and graduated from Oakdale High School in 1950 where she was a cheerleader. She went on to attend SLI (now ULL) and was a member of the Red Jackets. Fabia graduated in 1954 with a degree in Business Education.

In 1955 Fabia married the love of her life, Bill Park, and his career in the oilfield took them to Houma and then New Orleans, where their children, Tracey and Tom were born. She was involved with the start of the New Orleans Oil Directory, and entertained with her husband, which was a full-time job. In 1974, Bill’s career moved them to Lafayette, Louisiana, where she resided until her passing.

Fabia loved to cook, shop, play cards, and party, not necessarily in that order. She and Bill made many dear friends over the years and will be missed by all.

She leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter, Tracey Park Gunderson and her husband, Tory; one sister, Marlene B. Creasy of Lake Charles, LA; one granddaughter, Madeline Park Dunning; and dear family friend, Katherine A. Bennett.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William T. “Bill” Park; one son, William T. “Tom” Park, II; and her parents, Otto C. Brame and Annie S. Brame.

Fabia wished to have her body donated to the LSU School of Medicine for research. Per her request, there will be no services.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Acadiana for their kindness, compassion and gentle care given to Fabia during her time of need.

Memorial contributions may be made in Fabia’s name to Covenant United Methodist Church, 300 E. Martial Avenue, Lafayette, LA. 70508.
