I was a member of the USL (now ULL) varsity tennis team the springs of 1963, 1964 and 1965. In the Gulf States Conference tournament at Northwestern in May 1965 I was first place in singles (in my division) and Cleo Smith and I were semifinalists in 1st team doubles. USL Tennis Team came in second in 1965, helping USL garner the all sports award in the GSC. During the athletic banquet afterwards, I was awarded the Otto Broussard Scholarship Award 1964-65.
