Home Phone: -- SGA Business President 2012-13; * * * * * * * * * Homecoming Court: Megan Renee Roberts named 2011 UL homecoming queen Nicholas Persac, Daily Advertiser, Oct. 8, 2011 The University of Louisiana at Lafayette announced this week the members of the 2011 homecoming court and named a junior from Breaux Bridge queen. Megan Renee Roberts, who is the daughter of Belinda and Paul Roberts, is the 2011 homecoming queen and is a junior studying speech and pathology with a minor in education. The Our Lady of Wisdom Catholic Student Center nominated Roberts for the court. She is also a Student Government Association senator from the College of Liberal Arts and is president of alpha Lambda Delta. Roberts’ 4.0 GPA landed her on the President’s and Dean’s lists, and she is involved with numerous other extracurricular activities including being a tutor and “preparing for a mission trip to Puerto Rico” later this year, according to a news release. Additionally, there are four maids on the 2011 homecoming court. Those maids are Rachel Bonnette, Danielle Cottonham, Erin Edmiston and Kylie Templet. Various student organizations from across UL’s campus nominate women for the court, and seniors on the Ragin’ Cajun football team select the court after student leaders interview the nominees. Bonnette, a marketing senior with a minor in public relations and international business, is the daughter of Lorraine Kudirka of Colorado and Robert and Sandra Bonnettee of Pineville. The Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity nominated Bonnette for the court, and she is also a member of the Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority and the student orientation staff. She previous served as a senator for the College of Business in SGA and is the 2012 executive director of UL’s Relay for Life. Cottonham, a psychology senior, is the daughter of Danny and Patricia Cottonham of Lafayette. The Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority nominated her for the court. Cottonham is a member of numerous honor societies and is president of the Epsilon Beta Chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority. She was named outstanding new Greek woman of the year in 2010. Edmiston, a general studies senior, is the daughter of David and Gema Edmiston of Lafayette. Phi Kappa Theta nominated her for the court. Edmiston, who is Miss University of Louisiana at Lafayette 2010, is also the reigning Miss Camellia City USA in Slidell and will compete later this month in the Miss Louisiana USA competition. She also volunteers with the Mile Perret Cancer Services Center and is involved in a handful of other actives as well. Templet, a biology and chemistry senior, is the daughter of Sharla and Gordon Aloisio of New Ibera and Kirt and Becky Templet of Morgan City. She is the president of the Student Government Association, which nominated her for the court. Templet is also a member of several other organizations, including being director of Up Til Dawn. UL’s homecoming week includes numerous events staring Sunday and continuing until Saturday, when the Cajuns play North Texas at 4 p.m. on Oct. 15. * * * * * * * She is a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority and the Student Orientation Staff where she has served on the leadership team and the performance committee. She is also a member of the Student Government Association where she has served as a senator for the College of Business and been a member of the public relations committee. Bonnette is a member of the University Program Council and has served on its spirit committee for two years. She also participated in UL Lafayette’s Relay for Life and was its secretary/treasurer for a year.
