Steven “Scott” Moore Honored by U.S. Olympic Committee Paralympic – Named Coach of the Year

Scott Moore Named U.S. Olympic Committee Paralympic Coach of the Year( Colorado Springs, Colo.) – USA Judo is pleased to announce that Scott Moore (Englewood, Colo.) has been named the 2009 U.S. Olympic Committee Paralympic Coach of the Year.

The awards will be presented to the recipients on Thursday, June 17, during the National Coaching Educators’ Conference at the Hilton Savannah DeSoto in Savannah, Ga. The conference is a three-day event conducted jointly by the United States Olympic Committee, NCAA, National Federation of State High School Associations and National Association for Sport and Physical Education.

Moore was the head coach of the USA Judo Team that won 17 medals at the 2009 International Blind Sports Association Pan American Games in July. In addition, Moore led the U.S. Team to six medals, including two golds, at the 2009 German Open International Championships – the most prestigious international tournaments in the world for visually impaired players during a post-Paralympic year.

“That’s awesome. I’m overwhelmed,” Moore said when he was told the news in the Denver International Airport on his way to coach the U.S. Team at the IBSA World Championships in Anatalya, Turkey that begin tomorrow…
