I was recipent of a full atheletic scholarship during the 1951-52 season, and was a squad member of the varsity basketball team. However, I did not play in enough games to receive a “letter” in the sport. I dropped out of school in the spring of 1952 but later returned after military service and graduated from SLI in 1959 with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. My engineering career expanded 40 plus years and I finally retired in 1998. A fishing camp on Bayou Des Allemands occupy much of my time now. I still have fond memories of the seasons with the basketball team.
