Men’s Tennis: Melancon Wins Consolation at Ragin’ Cajuns Classic

LAFAYETTE- Louisiana’s Ben Melancon claimed the white singles bracket
consolation championship Sunday at the Ragin’ Cajuns Classic men’s tennis
tournament.

Melancon defeated Lamar’s Andres Medina in the final round to win the
consolation championship.

Piotr Banas was defeated by Louisiana State’s Danny Bryan 7-6, 6-4 in the
semifinal round of the red singles championship.

In doubles action, Dusan Tabak and Jorge Delgado were defeated by Eric
Deroche and Kevin Dessauer of Louisiana State 8-6 in the white doubles
championship round.

The Ragin’ Cajuns Classic was the final tournament of the men’s Fall 2006
season.

Red Singles Championship Round- Danny Bryan (LSU) d. Piotr Banas (UL) 7-6, 6-
4.

White Singles Consolation Championship Round- Ben Melancon (UL) d. Andres
Medina (LU).

White Doubles Championship Round- Eric Deroche and Kevin Dessauer (LSU) d.
Dusan Tabak and Jorge Delgado (UL) 8-6.
