Additional information on Don is posted below his LM. * * * * * Coach Blanco was a great influence on my life. I love him for what he did for me. I can’t tell you everything he did, but he made a lasting impression on me to grow up and become responsible for my actions. He told me I was too short, too fat,and too slow to play college football, but I played in every game because he gave me the drive to play bigger than my size. The motivation he gave me made me want to be a coach and help others like he helped me. Coach Blanco got me my first coaching job in Lake Arthur with his friend Jim McNally. That started a coaching career that lasted 30 years. I can’t tell you how many times I have used the same things l learned from Coach. Thank you Coach for being there for a young Chalmette High football player. * * * * * Assistant Football Coach during the 1982-1984 seasons on the Robertson staff and on the 1967 staff, as a student coach. I am now retired. A former Assistant Principal at Sulphur High School. I coached in High School and College for thirty years, before getting into Administration. I have 2 children that are married and four grandchildren.
