Jerie Alexander – Softball 1998-2002

What does the name Yvette Girouard mean to me……

Hard work: pushing you harder than you ever imagined;

Determination: proving that if you believed and worked harder than anyone else then you could accomplish your dreams;

Success: accomplishing your goals, but most importantly graduating from college;

Character: instilling honesty, loyalty, courage, and perseverance;

Kindness: teaching us to be kind to each other and to anyone who encountered our program;

Giving: attending community events as a team, Giving all of herself to “US”;

Family: ensuring each of us had a place to go for every holiday or our time off;

Friendship: being present whenever one of her current or former players stops by or calls.

I am honored that I had the opportunity to play for and become friends with Yvette Girouard. I will always cherish my time in South Louisiana playing as a Lady Cajun.
