Bobby Banna’s Living Memorial, Mark Trosclair – Baseball 1969-72 Coach Banna had a very unique influence on me with regards to player/coach relationship. Growing up, playing ball at different levels, coaches normally had many different agendas. Playing for Coach Banna was my first real experience of a serious coach with no other agendas, other than baseball. More specifically, winning baseball! His methods were hard and difficult to understand, especially being a pampered athlete in past situations. Unfortunately, in my case, I did not realize that his methods were sound and best for success until I graduated. His success can surely be measured by the resurgence of the baseball program at USL, and certainly laid the groundwork for today’s program. This tribute is long overdue, and can’t say enough about how Coach Banna positively influenced me and every one of my teammates. * * * * * Coker, O’Neal, Trosclair, Owens, Babineaux honored.
