He was born in Winnsboro, LA on April 30, 1933. During his high school years, he was an accomplished three sport athlete and accepted a baseball scholarship as a catcher at SLI (ULL) in Lafayette. He married his college sweetheart, Martha, in 1953 and moved to Lake Charles. He went to work at Continental Oil Company but continued his love for baseball as a semi-pro player. He also invested his life in countless young baseball players in Westlake coaching Little League and American Legion baseball teams. Bobby’s greatest legacy was in the lives of his children. He was immensely proud of their accomplishments and instilled a strong work ethic and a deep faith in the Lord in their lives. He retired from Conoco with 32 years’ service and moved to Toledo Bend to live with Martha, spending his remaining years enjoying fishing, gardening, working in his shop, and sitting on the porch watching the beautiful lake. He was a member of a local Baptist church. Mr. Crick leaves to cherish his memory his children, daughter, Debbie Buckley and husband Andy; Freddy Crick and wife Sherry; Lee Crick and wife Kathleen; grandchildren, Jonathan Buckley, Kathryn Sanford and husband Clint, Mika Shreeve and husband Drew, Robert “Cricket” Crick and Stephen Box; great-grandchildren, Carson, Savannah, Aiden and Eli Sanford.
