Track & Field: Cherubin Finishes 20th at NCAA Outdoor Track Championships

EUGENE, Ore. – Yves Cherubin posted a time of 14.02 seconds in the men’s 110-meter hurdles to finish 20th overall while Cole Courtois battled the elements in the men’s pole vault as the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns Track and Field wrapped up the first day of the 2021 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Hayward Field.

The second day of the four-day meet will continue on Thursday for Louisiana with the women’s 4×100-meter relay team of Kennedy London, Ta’La Spates, Serenity Rogers and Kiana Foster competing in the semifinals at 5:32 p.m. CT, and freshman Maria Bienvenu competing in the women’s javelin at 6:45 p.m.

Cherubin finished sixth overall in his heat which was claimed by Iowa’s Jaylan McConico (13.51) with Giano Roberts of Clemson finishing second with a personal-best 13.59.
Courtois and eight others in the 24-man field battled persistent rain during the early part in the men’s pole vault and missed on three attempts at 16-10 ¾.
