Track and Field: Leleux Punches Ticket To Eugene After Fourth-Place Finish In Pole Vault
New Iberia native will compete at NCAA Track and Field Championships June 8-11
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns track and field standout Morgann Leleux punched her ticket to the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships after she earned a fourth-place finish in the women’s pole vault on Friday at the NCAA Division I Preliminary at Hodges Stadium on the campus of the University of North Florida. Leleux, a five-time All-American in the pole vault at Georgia before transferring to Louisiana, was one of 10 individuals to clear the bar at 13-11 ¼ and qualify for the NCAA Championships, scheduled for June 8-11 in Eugene, Ore. Alena Hrusoci narrowly missed qualifying for the NCAA meet after finishing 16th overall in the women’s 400-meter hurdles (58.06). In the men’s 200-meter dash, Hanoj Carter finished 31st overall with a time of 21.08 while Bartul Basic finished 39th overall in the men’s javelin (194-2).
