Football:Cajuns first football opponent hopes to help flood victims

The Advertiser, Aug. 24, 2016

The Ragin’ Cajuns are scheduled to host Boise State on Sept. 3, and the Broncos hope to do more than just help kick off the 2016 football season.

A GoFundMe page has been set up for the school to raise money to help Louisiana flood victims.

The page aims to raise more than $36,000 or $1 for every seat in the Boise State stadium.

"With the devastating floods in Louisiana, it’s time for Bronco Nation to step up," the GoFundMe page says. "Our community needs to open their hearts to help the area affected by historical rains…. Our goal is to raise $1 for every seat in  Albertsons Stadium ($36,387). Please donate what you can. All funds will go directly to the United Way of Acadiana."

On Wednesday afternoon, about $3,900 had been raised on the site.
