Men’s Tennis: Ragin’ Cajuns Finish The John Breaux Cajun Tennis Classic With Two Wins

LAFAYETTE – Pearse Dolan and Jamie Fraser each wrapped up their weekend, on Sunday, Sept. 23, at the 2018 John Breaux Cajun Tennis Classic with the two Louisiana Men’s Tennis juniors getting wins in singles after a busy three days at Cajun Courts.

DOLAN FINISHES STRONG: In the consolation quarterfinals backdraw portion of the bracket, Dolan faced off with Texas Tech’s Artem Kapshuk.  Dolan handled Kapshuk in straight sets to cap off his weekend with a 6-2, 6-3 win.

CAJUNS FACING OFF: In the consolation semifinals backdraw Fraser faced his Louisiana teammate sophomore Dominik Koenig.  Fraser and Koenig battled through a tough first set, with Fraser coming away with the win in a tiebreaker, 7-6(1).

In the second set Fraser controlled the set from the start, winning 6-4 to take the match against his Ragin’ Cajuns teammate in straight sets, 7-6(1), 6-4, to finish off his weekend with a in.

UP NEXT FOR THE CAJUNS: Starting on Friday, Sept. 28, Louisiana will send a handful to Houston, Texas for the Rice Invitational that runs until Sunday, Sept. 30.  During the same weekend, in Tulsa, Okla., another collection of Cajuns will head to the ITA All-American Championships that start on Saturday, Sept. 29.
