LAFAYETTE – Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns Womens’ Soccer defender Gwen Mummert picked up more postseason accolades when she was selected to the United Soccer Coaches All-Southeast Region Team, the organization released earlier this week.

Mummert, a sophomore from Berlin, Germany, was a second-team All-Southeast Region selection after helping lead Louisiana to a 9-8-3 record and a semifinal appearance in the Sun Belt Conference Women’s Soccer Championships.

In 20 matches on the season, Mummert scored five goals and added an assist playing as the center back on a defensive line that helped produce the lowest goals against average (1.20) in school history. Mummert set a single-season, school-record with four penalty kick goals and played 1,679 of a possible 1,722 minutes during the regular-season.

Mummert, who helped spearhead a six-match turnaround in the win column under first-year coach Lance Key, earned first-team All-Sun Belt Conference honors and was the first Louisiana player to earn Sun Belt All-Tournament honors in school history.
