Obituary: M. L. ‘œTigue’ Moore
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 18, 1994 in the Delhomme Bertrand Chapel of the Flowers for Marion L. "Tigue" Moore Jr., 95, who died 11:36 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, 1994 at Lafayette General Medical Center Hospital. The Rev. Monsignor A.O. Sigur, Vicar General of the Diocese of Lafayette, will conduct the services. Entombment will take place in the Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Mr. Moore was a native of Sumpter County, South Carolina, the son of the late Marion L. Moore Sr. and the former Jennie Richards. A resident of Lafayette for many years, he was presently retired. Tigue is survived by a sister and a brother-in-law, Jennie Moore and William D. Rhodes of Summerville, S.C.; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Elias R. Moore Sr. of Shreveport; one niece, Avis Moore; six nephews, Stephen R. Moore Jr., Marion Lartigue Moore II, William David Rhodes III, Stephen Mayes Rhodes, Robert Lartigue Rhodes and Elias Richard Moore Jr.; and 13 great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Catherine Louise Van Horn; two brothers, Stephen Richards Moore and Elias Richard Moore; and one sisters, Lilly Moore Dorn. He is also survived by many men, young and old, their children and grandchildren, whom have benefited from the time, friendship, leadership, and care that Mr. Moore gave them. Visiting hours are to be observed at the funeral home Thursday from 4-8 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to service time. Pallbearers will be: William D. Rhodes, Stephen R. Moore Jr., Marion Lartigue Moore II, Paul H. Rupert, Kermit Couvilion and Rene D. "Poochie" Delhomme. The funeral is under the direction of Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Dr.
