The meeting began with socialization, seafood jambalaya, and liquid refreshments. Prejean’s Restaurant and Lafayette Coca Cola were acknowledged for providing food and drink. Near the end of the meal, attendees were asked to introduce themselves by providing their name, their association with the AN, and completing the statement, “I am here this evening because…” This gave pause for personalization of introductions and interesting information.

The group moved to the Board Room and with live internet, navigated parts of the Athletic Network. The initial focus was on the search engines in the upper left corner and how to add the website address to one’s favorites for ease of access. Using only the point and click methods of seeking information, questions from the audience were entertained using the various search engines.

The next focus was on profiles and examples from the audience – Margaret McMillan and Eddie Mouton – were used. The variety of methods used to place information in the profiles was illustrated.

The University Links and Community Links were viewed and briefly discussed.

The next focus was on the 42 items in the photo gallery menu. One click on the Photo Gallery and the menu appeared. From there, the selection was made from the menu and then the year of the item. Random selections and others was used to show the ease of navigating the page of the photo gallery.

Curtis Hollinger, member of the Ragin’ Cajuns Athletic Foundation, was introduced and using the RCAF links on the Athletic Network, he reviewed key information and materials. The RCAF pages were on the screen while Curtis presented. These may be found in the Athletic Department Link, University Links, and Community Links of the AN.

The Athletic Network bumper sticker donated by Lowry Printing and Signs was unveiled and distributed to those in attendance who wish to foster the Ragin’ Cajun spirit.

The meeting culminated with Ed thanking everyone for coming and attendees moved back to the Sun Porch to consume more jambalaya and liquid refreshments and participate in the Beryl Shipley “Slam Dunked” book signings.

Special appreciation is extended to Chris Labauve, Alumni Asssociation, for his assistance in preparing the facility and staffing the computer during the presentation. Keith Guidry, Alumni Association, and Chris also contributed pictures and assisted in several other ways. Thanks to both of you.
