Reunion of 1960s Former Football Players - Sat., Oct. 13, 2018 The 2018 gathering of former USL Football Players who played for Coach Russ Faulkinberry in the 1960s had their annual reunion on Homecoming Day, Saturday, October 13th. The players and staff met again at Walk On Restaurant at 11:15 A.M. for lunch and the wives/girlfriends met at Saltgrass Steak House at 11:15 A.M., also that same day. Approximately 20 former players from the 1960-1970 teams attended the gathering for story telling (lies) about their football days at USL and for lunch. New attendees at the Reunion were Robbie Juul, Don Garrett and George Halkiades (Equipment Manager). Next year, this group will open up the luncheon to all football players who had played for Coach Faulkinberry - not limit it to just the 1960s players. USL Football players lost in 2018 were Paul Waters, Jimmy Dominques, L. J. Poimboeuf, Jim Kemp, and Miles Gosnell. Anyone interested in attending these reunions in the future should contact Tom Kelly at 540-788-4678 or at kellyt32@gmail.com.
