TOKYO – Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Track and Field alum and New Iberia native Morgann Leleux cleared 14 feet, 11 inches on her final attempt to advance to the finals in the women's pole vault at the 2021 Summer Olympic Games on Monday.

Leleux, a 2016 All-American at UL, was one of 15 athletes who battled a rain delay to advance to Thursday's final which will take place at 5:20 a.m. CDT.

Leleux passed on her opening attempt at 13-11 ¼ before clearing 14-5 ¼ on her first attempt. She missed on her first two attempts at 14-11 before clearing the bar on her final attempt and joining American teammate Katie Nageotte in the finals.
