Football: Ragin' Cajuns offensive lineman Hunt taken in NFL Draft

He did not have a full body of work from his senior season.
But that did not stop UL offensive lineman Robert Hunt from being selected Friday night by the Miami Dolphins in the second round, 39th overall, of the 2020 NFL Draft.
Hunt missed the final seven of 11-3 UL’s 2019 due to sports hernia surgery that he underwent in December, after the Ragin’ Cajuns lost at Appalachian State in the Sun Belt Conference championship game but before they beat Miami (Ohio) in the LendingTree Bowl.
Prior to the draft, Hunt – from Burkeville High, a tiny Class 1A program in Texas not far from Texas-Louisiana border – suggested impressing scouts with good work from the first half of the season would be the key to perhaps getting picked high.
Everybody likes my film a lot from this past year,” he said. “So that helped me out.”
The injury caused Hunt to missed not only UL’s title game and bowl games, but also the 2020 Senior Bowl for which he was selected.
He also attended, but was unable to work out at, the NFL Draft Combine.
Hunt was a 2019 first team All-Sun Belt despite missing half the season.
