Baseball: Louisiana Ranked 24 in Collegiate Baseball Preseason Poll

LAFAYETTE – With the 2020 season rapidly approaching, Louisiana Baseball has been recognized as one of the top programs in the country after it was ranked 24th by Collegiate Baseball in the national organization's preseason poll.

The Ragin' Cajuns check in as the second highest non-Power 5 team in the poll, coming in behind Sun Belt foe South Alabama, which enters the 2020 campaign ranked No. 23. The full, 40-team poll can be found here.

Louisiana had a successful fall campaign, beating Mississippi State, 7-4, on Oct. 5 and Tulane, 6-2, on Nov. 3 in two fall exhibitions on the back of excellent pitching.

This year's Ragin' Cajun baseball team will have a healthy mix of new faces, returning only three position players with 20 or more starts from last season. However, the program brought in a wealth of talent on the mound and as well in the field.

The team starts the 2020 season on Feb. 14 against Louisiana Tech at M.L. 'Tigue' Moore Field at Russo Park with first pitch at 6 p.m. Fans looking to request season tickets for the 2020 season can click here.
