LAFAYETTE – Louisiana's Karleen Bedre capped off an impressive first season at the collegiate level when she was named the Freshman of the Year as the Louisiana Sports Writers Association released its 2019 All-Louisiana Women's Soccer team on Saturday.

Louisiana, which finished 9-8-3 overall in its first season under head coach Lance Key, placed three members on the first-team with defender Gwen Mummert and goalkeeper Mackenzie Lee joining Bedre on the 12-member team.

The team was voted on the state's women's soccer sports information directors.

Bedre led Louisiana in goals scored (7), assists (5) and points (19) as a true freshman. The Norco, Calif., native started 17 of 18 matches during the regular-season while logging over 1,300 minutes of action, scoring a point in six consecutive matches for the Ragin' Cajuns and tallying three goals and four assists during the six-match span.

She tied a single-season, school-record with three game winning goals and scored two goals in a 14-minute span against Georgia Southern, helping Louisiana secure its first postseason berth since 2016.

Lee posted a school-record low 1.16 goals against average, playing all but 43:34 in goal for the Ragin' Cajuns during the season. The Kingwood, Texas native recorded 68 saves on the season and was a part of a single-season, school-record eight shutouts, including a scoreless draw against regular-season and NCAA Tournament participant South Alabama.

She became the third goalkeeper in school history to log over 4,000 minutes and added shutouts against Sun Belt rivals Appalachian State and Georgia Southern, Chicago State and Nicholls State.

Lee, who was also credited with a pair of assists during the season, posted an 0.43 GAA at home, allowing only three goals in 629 minutes.

Mummert, a first-team All-Sun Belt Conference selection and second-team USC All-Southeast Region pick, started in all 20 matches for Louisiana and played center back on a defensive line that helped produce the lowest goals against average (1.20) in school history.

The Berlin, Germany native scored four goals with one assist in 18 matches and played 1,679 of a possible 1,722 minutes during the regular-season.

Mummert set a single-season, school-record with four penalty kick goals.
