Athletics: Conner Promoted to Full Oversight of Louisiana Equipment Operations
Conner ascends to Director of Equipment Operations, overseeing all 16 Louisiana sport programs
LAFAYETTE - Louisiana Athletics' Director of Equipment Operations Kerry Conner has assumed oversight of equipment needs for all 16 sport programs for the Department of Athletics, it was announced Monday. Entering his sixth season with the Ragin' Cajuns, Conner was named National Equipment Manager of the Year by the Athletic Equipment Managers Association (AEMA) in June.
A native of New Iberia, Louisiana, Conner began working for the late Lynn Williams as assistant equipment manager for the Ragin' Cajuns in 2014, eventually earning the responsibility of managing football equipment operations. Prior to working at Louisiana, Conner spent two seasons at Louisiana Tech, where he served as equipment manager for the Bulldogs' football team and supervised interns and student managers.
Prior to his arrival in Ruston, Conner served as the head equipment manager at Nicholls State in Thibodaux from 2006-12, where he handled the equipment responsibilities for the Colonels' 14 sport programs. Conner additionally worked in the same capacity for Northwestern State from 2004-06.
Conner earned a Bachelor's degree from Northwestern State in business administration in 2003. He served as a student manager for the Demons while in pursuit of his undergraduate degree from 2001-04.
While working towards his NSU degree, Conner spent two summers serving internships in the NFL, first with the Miami Dolphins in 2003 and secondly with the New Orleans Saints in 2004. Conner assisted both organizations in preparation for and during training camp.
Conner is married to the former Marsiah Woods of Thibodaux, and the couple has a son, Kerry Conner III, and a daughter, Kaci Mary-Ann Conner.
