Football: Coach Russ Faulkinberry Tower Dedication Update - Photos and Dedication Remarks

On August 31, 2018, 5:30 P.M.,  family, friends, former players, athletics department personnel and fans gathered to dedicate the Ragin' Cajuns Tower to Coach Russ Faulkinberry, our winningest football coach.

Through the efforts of the Athletics Department, Lee Faulkinberry Granger, Jim Doyle, Brad Kemp, and Noah Morley, the Athletic Network is pleased to provide this chapter of Ragin' Cajuns football history so all may know about the outstanding coaches, players, and support staff who helped provide those wonderful representatives of the university - both on and off the field.

Please click on www.athleticnetwork.net - Ragin' Cajuns Reunions and Special Events (banner on right side of the News Box - then scroll down and click on the Coach Faulkinberry Tower Dedication. Please note that two other events for former football players are listed there and they contain details of each event.

To view Coach Faulkinberry's Tribute in the Tribute to Louisiana Coaches, please click that banner (also on the right side of the News Box) and click on his name in the list of former coaches who are being honored.

In Jim Doyle's remarks at the dedication, former players were reminded that Living Memorials are still being accepted and added to Coach Faulkinberry's Tribute. Those former players who have not yet done so are encouraged to email their LM to athleticnetwork@louisiana.edu so they may be part of Coach Faulkinberry's tribute.

Suggested captions for photos of the tower dedication (small groups) are sought and may be emailed to athleticnetwork@louisiana.edu - using either the Brad Kemp photo number or Dr. Ed Dugas number. Samples are in the photo gallery.

Additions to the Coach Faulkinberry Tribute are being processed and you will be notified of those. Thanks.

Please note the Spotlight Feature on the 1968 Championship Football team in the News Box and also the announcement has been added to the social media of Dupre' Library. Your assistance in sending this information to other Cajun fans and requesting that they email athleticnetwork@louisiana.edu to get on the Athletic Network newsletter email address list. Thanks.

Peace, Dr. Ed Dugas
