Soccer: Ragin' Cajuns Fall at McNeese

LAKE CHARLES, La. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision to McNeese on Sunday afternoon at Cowgirl Field.
 
Junior goalkeeper Mackenzie Lee notched eight saves in the contest for the Ragin' Cajuns (1-3-2) who were outshot 14-7 in the match. Savanna Young and Gwen Mummert each had two shots in the game for Louisiana.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
 
McNeese (5-1-0) took a 1-0 lead in the 18th minute when Morgan Middleton drove a cross from Kacie Kinley into the back of the net.
 
The Cowgirls increased their advantage to 2-0 in the 41st minute on a free kick goal by Dayna Garcia.
 
Nola Prickett added the final goal of the match for McNeese in the 48th minute heading a corner taken by Rachel Palet into the net to make the final 3-0.
 
UP NEXT
 
Louisiana returns to action next Friday in Houston, Texas against Tulsa at 5 p.m. in the first of two games at the Rice Tournament.
