Golf: Ragin' Cajuns Announce Challenging 2018-19 Schedule

Story LinksLAFAYETTE, La. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns golf team will take part in 13 events including five tournaments in the fall as head coach Theo Sliman announced the 2018-19 schedule on Wednesday.
"This is going to be a very challenging schedule for us as we get tested right out of the gate," Sliman said. "I think this schedule has good balance between the fall and spring and also will give us a great strength of schedule.
"Our goal is to take care of business during the regular season so that we are in great shape heading into the Sun Belt Championship in April. Everything is put in place for this talented and experience group to have a successful season."
The Ragin' Cajuns open the 2018 fall slate at the Lone Star Intercollegiate hosted at the TPC San Antonio from Sept. 10-11. Louisiana then heads to both the Louisville Cardinal Challenge (Sept. 14-16) and Inverness Intercollegiate (Sept. 24-25) later that month.
The squad makes a return to the David Toms Intercollegiate on Oct. 6-7 before closing out the fall at the Warrior Princeville Makai Invitational Oct. 28-30.
Louisiana opens the spring slate on Feb. 11-12 at the at the Mobile Sports Authority Intercollegiate. Following a trip to the All-American Intercollegiate Feb. 17-19, the Ragin' Cajuns host the 34th annual Louisiana Classics at Oakbourne Country Club from Feb. 25-26.
The Cajuns make their first trip to the Lamkin San Diego Classic on March 11-12 before looking to defend their team title at the Lake Charles Invitational March 18-19.
Louisiana wraps up the regular season with a pair of dates in Mississippi with appearances at the Southern Collegiate Match Play (April 1) and the Old Waverly Collegiate Championship (April 15-16).
The 2019 Sun Belt Conference Golf Championship will be held at the Raven Golf Course in Sandestin, Fla. for the fourth consecutive year on April 21-24.
