Football: Hunt and Turner to Represent Ragin' Cajuns at Sun Belt Media Day
Louisiana Football's media day crew will represent the school in New Orleans on July 23
LAFAYETTE – Junior offensive linemen Robert Huntand senior defensive back Corey Turnerwill join Louisiana Football head coach Billy Napier as the Ragin' Cajuns' representatives at the 2018 Sun Belt Conference Football Media Day, which will be on July 22-23 in New Orleans, Louisiana, at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
HUNT A LEADER UP FRONT: Hunt has been a starter and leader up front for the Ragin' Cajuns, starting 24 games over the past two season, 22 at left guard and two at left tackle. Over those past two season, Louisiana's ground attack has been solid with 5,287 rushing yards accumulated over the previous two seasons.
Hunt cleared holes in 2016 for then-senior Elijah McGuire's 1,168 yards gained on the ground, and this past season Hunt opened up lanes for freshman Trey Ragas, who went on to gain 813 yards on the ground. Louisiana's rushing attack in 2017 was the third-best in the SBC, and Hunt was a huge part of the push up front.
TURNER LEADS THE DEFENSE: During 2017, Turner emerged as a key part of the Louisiana defensive secondary, finishing third on the team in tackles (68), and in tackles-for-loss at 6.0. He secured his first career sack in a highlight reel game at Ole Miss, in which he finished with 13 tackles on the day.
