Reliever Grant Cox had a good outing on the mound posting 1.2 scoreless innings with two strikeouts.

HOW IT HAPPENED

South Alabama went in front 1-0 in the top of the fourth on a squeeze bunt by Carter Perkins with runners on the corners and one out.

The Jaguars added to the advantage an inning later bringing home four runs on three hits and four free passes to make the score 5-0. A two-out, three-run homer to right field by Wells Davis highlighted the scoring in the inning.

The Ragin' Cajuns answered in the bottom half of the fifth loading the bases with two outs before Daniel Lahare was hit by a pitch to cut the lead to 5-1. In the next at bat, Bourgeois drove a single to centerfield to bring home two more runs and pull Louisiana within two runs at 5-3.

South Alabama got a run back in the top of the sixth when Travis Swaggerty sent the first pitch he saw from Dylan Moore over the fence in right center for a solo home run.

The Jags tacked on the final run of the game in the eighth inning on an RBI single through the right side of the infield by Russo.
