Cross Country: Cajuns Run Away In Sweeping Team Titles At MC Invitational

CLINTON, Miss. – Stanley Limoh led a trio of runners to top-five finishes in the men's 8K race with Courtney Musgrove leading three runners to top-six finishes in the women's 5K race as the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns cross country team earned a pair of team titles on Saturday at the MC Invitational at Choctaw Trails.
Louisiana, making its final tuneup before the Sun Belt Conference Championships on Oct. 28 in Boone, N.C., placed five runners in the top-15 to run away with the men's title scoring 33 points and outdistancing ULM (80), Grambling (83), Jackson State (97) and Northwestern State (100) in the eight-team field.
Musgrove led the Ragin' Cajuns to their first team title of the season on the women's side, scoring 38 points to finish ahead of Georgia State (58), Mississippi Valley (132), Northwestern State (141), ULM (150) and Louisiana Tech (151) in the 13-team field.  
Limoh recorded a first-place time of 25:21.55 to claim his third individual title of the season for Louisiana, ranked No. 10 in the USTFCCCA South Central Region. Jonathan Kimutai earned a fourth-place finish (25:38.19) for the Ragin' Cajuns with Beau Robinson placing fifth overall (25:39.46).
Dylan Heck (26:36.14) and Logan LaGarde (27:25.63) finished ninth and 14th, respectively, for Louisiana with George Femmer finishing 16th (27:34.92), Andre Bellard 17th (27:36.16) and Reagan LeMaire 19th (27:46.17).
Musgrove posted a time of 18:24.67 on the 5K course to finish second overall for Louisiana with teammate Lindsay LaGarde placing third overall with a time of 18:25.89. Claire Hodges crossed the finish line in 19:03.07 to finish sixth overall with freshman Ally McCulley finishing 13th (19:34.97) and Alexa Breaux 14th (19:36.95).
Courtney Broussard earned a 17th-place finish for the Ragin' Cajuns, crossing the finish line in 19:43.81, with Teresa Bruning placing 21st (19:55.98) and Hailey Hesterman 27th (20:16.25) in a field of over 200 runners.
Louisiana will compete at the Sun Belt Conference Championships on Oct. 28 in Boone, N.C.
