LAFAYETTE – Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Men's Basketball coach Bob Marlin added his second BIG EAST transfer for the 2021-22 season on Thursday when he announced that former Creighton letterwinner Antwann Jones signed a Grant-in-Aid.

Jones, a 6-foot-6, 220-pound guard, joins a list of Division I transfers for the Ragin' Cajuns that includes Lafayette native and former St. John's guard Greg Williams, Jr., along with Arizona transfer Jordan Brown and San Jose State guard – and former Lafayette High product – Jalen Dalcourt

"We are excited to add Antwann to this recruiting class," Marlin said. "Antwann is a versatile guard and his ability to pass, rebound, and score will help our team play in a variety of ways. Throughout his career he has demonstrated the ability and willingness to do what the team needed to win.

"Antwann will also add experience to our roster. We believe this is a well-rounded team and Antwann's experiences will be of great value on and off the court."

Jones, a native of Orlando, Fla., played the 2020-21 season for the Bluejays where he averaged 3.4 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.3 assists per contest. Jones finished tied for sixth on the team in 3-pointers made and scored a season-high 13 points, adding four rebounds and two assists in a comeback win over No. 22 Xavier.

Jones played as a freshman in 2018-19 at Memphis where he averaged 4.7 points and 3.0 rebounds in 16.7 minutes per game. He saw action in 35-of-36 games, with six starts and shot 42.4 percent from the field, 34.1 percent from three-point range and 84.4 percent at the line.

Ranked as the No. 18 shooting guard in the nation by ESPN, Jones helped Oak Ridge (Fla.) to the 2018 Florida High School Activities Association (FHSAA) Class 9A state title. He helped the Pioneers to a 30-4 and was the No. 80 overall player in the 2018 class.
