Softball: Softball Ranked 9/12 in Final Season Polls

LAFAYETTE, La. – Coming off a regional title and a 53-6 record, the Ragin’ Cajuns softball team ended the season ranked No. 9/12, respectively, in the final release of the national polls, which were announced on Tuesday.
The Cajuns, locked in at No. 9 in the ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 Poll, found themselves in the top 10 to end the season for the 10th time in school history. The ranking also marks the ninth time in the last 10 years Louisiana has been in the top 25 to conclude the season.
UL is slotted at No. 12 in the USA Today/NFCA Division I Top 25 Poll. The Ragin Cajuns, who began the season ranked 23/24, remained in the top 25 of both polls throughout the entire season.
After starting the season with a school record 28 straight wins, Louisiana won their 11th regular season SBC title in the last 12 years and hosted their first regional since 2002.
