Football: UL’s Williams to play in all-star gameTim Buckley, The Advertiser, January 14, 2016
UL senior offensive guard Donovan Williams will play in this year’s NFLPA Collegiate Bowl, Ragin’ Cajuns coach Mark Hudspeth said Thursday. The All-Star game will be played at 5 p.m. (central) on Jan. 23 at the StubHub Center in Carson, California, near Los Angeles on the campus of California State University Dominguez Hills. The game will air on ESPN2. Team practices on Jan. 20 and 21 will air on ESPNU. Ex-NFL coaches Mike Holmgren and Mike Martz will coach the two teams involved. Williams, from San Antonio, started for two seasons at UL after transferring in from Blinn College in Texas. Williams is the only Cajun known so far to be playing in a postseason all-star game this year. Hudspeth said pro-prospect receiver Jamal Robinson has been training in Arizona and pro-prospect offensive lineman Mykhael Quave, who missed much of the season following surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff, has been training in New Jersey.
