Blackjack Landry Memorial Athletics Fund Status Report 

 

The Committee and Team Captains of the Blackjack Landry Memorial Athletics Fund are excited to report that we have raised over $100,000 toward our $200,000 goal for erecting a statue and to fund an endowed scholarship honoring Bill "Blackjack" Landry’s selfless devotion to Cajun Athletics.    

 

The picture below shows the positioning of the statue and the progress of the base we have made thus far.

 

 

 

 

In preparation for the sculpture dedication on Friday at 5:30 pm September 28th at Cajun Field, much progress has been made in not only raising funds but assembling the base and preparing for landscaping of the area.  Although we have made great progress, we need your help to reach our goal. Whether your gift is a one-time gift of $50 or $100 or a more substantial gift of $5,000, we ask that you put some skin in the game in honor of Blackjack.  

 

For 36 years (until his death) Blackjack lent a hand to each of us when we needed help. Can you lend a hand toward honoring him?
