LAFAYETTE, La. – Junior Jace Conrad earned the Cajuns second straight LSWA Player of the Week award after helping guide the second-ranked Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns baseball team to its eight consecutive series win, the Louisiana Sports Writers Association (LSWA) announced on Monday.

A Lafayette native, Conrad had another strong week at the plate hitting .474 with nine hits including three doubles, a triple, grand slam and eight RBI. Conrad posted three hits twice during the week and helped lift the Ragin’ Cajuns to a series win over WKU.

Conrad broke a 3-3 tie in the series finale against the Hilltoppers with a grand slam to win the series. The junior had three extra base hits in the Cajuns 10-9 victory in the second game of the doubleheader. Conrad slugged .895 with a .522 on base percentage in five games. He also had two stolen bases.

Seth Harrison was the first Cajuns player this season to earn LSWA Player of the Week honors picking up the award a week ago.

The Ragin’ Cajuns close out a nine-game homestand tomorrow at 6 p.m. at M.L. “Tigue” Moore Field when they host Tulane in non-conference play.
