Softball: Postseason Surge Propels Cajuns to 12th in NFCA Polls
LAFAYETTE, La. – After a strong postseason run that saw the Ragin’ Cajuns softball program advancing to their second consecutive NCAA Super Regional berth, the Ragin’ Cajuns softball program ended the season ranked 12th in the final USA Today/NFCA Division I Top 25 Poll.
This is the second consecutive season in which the Cajuns finished the season with a national ranking of 12th, the highest since they finished 2008 ranked sixth, which was the highest postseason ranking in the Lotief era.
Louisiana finished the season 47-15, and are the highest-ranked team in the state in the postseason poll for the first time since 2010, when they finished ranked 16th.
The team was also ranked 15th in the ESPN.com/USA Softball Top-25 and finished with an RPI ranking of 14.
